The fixed price discount stores first started in Germany after the World War II out of the necessity to stimulate the economy. The concept of the fixed price was the motor of economic growth in the European post-war period.

30 years later, more fixed price stores, the so-called “dollar stores”, started popping up in the United States. Their franchising structure has known, and is still knowing, an amazing exponential growth.

The history of our own group started in March 1997, when we opened our first store in Bolzano with the name of 1500 Lire Shop. Our objective was - and is still - to offer a maximum selection of good quality products at a very low price – quality for 99 cents.

The success of this idea and the enthusiasm of our partners have made it possible for us to grow in only 12 years from the first store in Bolzano to more than 250 stores all over Italy and Europe.

Today our solid organizational and logistic structure is able to support the constant growth of our group, and makes it possible for the NINEtNINE Cent-shops to be the number 1 in Italy in their sector.
